Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

0.33l bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a fizzing light clouded pale yellowish body with a nice dense and creamy just off-white head. Aroma has orange zest, some Belgian yeast, white sugar and some soapy hints. Lively carbonation, medium-bodied and it has a oily to watery fizzing mouthfeel. Light yeasty and sweet flavors with notes of banana, apples, some candy-hints. Spicy and peppery aftertaste. A bit boring tripel if you ask me.

Bottle. Clear brown with the odd clump, beige head that fades to a coat. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, stewed fruits, dough. Taste is quite sweet and tastes much as it smells with some drying spices (cloves, star anise, cinnamon) at the end. Nice amount of carbonation and hop finish gives a nice lightness to tidy up the sweetness. Goodish flavours but put together with some elegance.
