Description

Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of wine, apricot, hops and malts. Malty flavours, quite bitter, grapes, wood and fruits. Quite low carbonation, light oily. Rather bitter finish, apricot, grapes, fruity. Nice.

Hazy deep gold beer. Big fluffy pale cream coloured head. Palate is a little crisp and semi dry. Light pale malt with a little honey sweetness. Light and dry marmalade orange. Noble hop like bitterness brings up the rear to the semi dry finish. Somewhere between a golden ale and an English IPA.

27.09.2013, tap @ Borefts:
Tiny shortlasting head. Aroma is wet grain, puffed rice, roasted coffee, chocolate, hay. Taste is slightly neutral, dark malts, hay, salt, wet grain, hints of chocolate and coffee. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Pretty boring.

Completely flat. Aroma is neutral, dark malts, licorice, cocoa, coffee. Taste is slightly neutral, dark malts, oak, licorice, alcohol, cocoa, burnt coffee. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. This beer could very well be just another boring low alcohol boring beer. But 13%?! Yeah right!!

Tap at Borefts ’13, 27/09/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is light hops, peaches, orange, bitter fruit notes. Taste comprises orange pith, peach, light pine, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with a little hop bitterness. Decent enough APA.

Tap at Borefts ’13, 27/09/13. Lightly hazed amber with a thin off white head that fucks off to the edge - how rude ! Nose is dark fruits, toffee, light spice, sugars. Taste comprises bready malts, dark toffee fudge, dark fruits, dates, subtle boozeyness. Full bodied, fine carbonation. Ok barley wine but ultimately lacks depth to make it a great. Alcohol well integrated.

Tap at Borefts ’13, 27/09/13. Light black with a thin tan head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is big roast malts, booze, cocoa, earthy. Taste comprises light roast, brown sugar, woody oaky tones, booze, light chocolate tang. Full bodied, fine carbonation. Very drinkable for 13% ABV but lacks a little depth for me.
