Cask (handpump) @ The Standing Order, 62-66 George St, Edinburgh, Scotland EH2 2LR.Clear medium brown amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, light roasted, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101029]

Cask at the Tyburn, JDW. Light, hazy gold pour with a creamy cap. Bland, light bread noce. Oof, this beer tastes weird/bad. Either a terrible beer or or terrible conditioning - or both. Messy malts, faint sugar, no bitterness. Watery. Medium in body with flat carbonation. Light dough and water on the finish with some sugars. Wow. Quite bad. I hope this is just an off-day.

Cask-conditioned at the Staple Hill Oak (JDW), Bristol 1/04/2011.dark amber with a decent white head. Sweet, bready malts and berry fruit leading to a decent bitter finish, with only a trace of cardboard on the downside. A full bodied beer that is a vast improvement on the standard GK IPA.

Cask @ Camperdown Place, JDW. Amber colour, dense off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, bit of hops. Flavour is carame malts, hoppy, slightly creamy, hint of wood polish. Bitter finish. Not too well.

Tin. Pours wine red with medium fast dissipating head. Aroma is a good balance of sweet malt, and hop. Light body with a weak flavour. Lekker light hop finish

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Clear, lovely auburn with a foamy, off-white head. Weak nose, some bready malts and sugar. Sweet flavor, some straight malts, sugar, booze, weak leafy bitters. Medium to full in body, warming with soft carbonation. Finishes sweet, semi-boozy, with cake malts. Not too bad.

Cask handpull at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Clear reddish amber colour with lasting beige head. A good looking beer. Its got some GK yeast some sweet toffee malt. Full in mouth. Yes some GK aspects but some fullness you dont always get from this brewery. Tasty enough in mouth. Rich malty fruit is decent. Some hop sting or warming alcohol on finish. Fine. Worth a second pint

On tap, pours clear bronze. Aroma and flavour of bitter hops and English malts with slightly stale woody notes. Not too good.

Cask at The Old Explorer (a GK pub), London, under its assumed alias London Glory. Beautiful mahogany colour, coarse small off-white head. No aroma detectable. Thin mouthfeel. Dry flavour, moderate hops. Drinkable, but not exciting. You’d think GK should be able to come up with something better than this.

Nitro tap. Pours with a white nitro bubble head over a completely clear amber body. Aromas are husky, grainy and bready. Light toast. Flavors are grainy, watery, lightly bitter, nitrogen bubbles, bready. Really watery, nitro body. Extremely bland and nondescript.
