Family and employee-owned, the brewery is known for brewing a diverse line-up of award winning beers including the popular Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale, and Fresh Squeezed IPA. From the beginning, the focus has been on crafting the best beer and food using only the finest ingredients. In 2008, Deschutes opened a second pub in Portland’s Pearl District. Deschutes Brewery now ships beer to 28 states, the District of Columbia, and around the world from its main brewing facility located on the banks of the Deschutes River.

A purchase at the local beer place, thank you Terry. Deschutes, the home of Abyss, is cranking out DIPAs now? Life is good. And it’s a stovepipe can? All I can say is value, baby, value. I have a Belgian chalice out from a previous tasting, yeah it will do. The pour is a clear pale yellow completed by a light skim of totally white foam. I smell pine cones, grass and yellow fruit. And the drink is rather swell. Definitely a throwback IPA with lots of hoppy bitterness, lemons, white bread, malt, a caramel sweetness, a touch of herb and the accompanying dankness. Not what I’d call a hop bomb like Hop Stoopid or Elevation but in the neighborhood. I am transported to an appreciated time.

500mL bottle. Pours black with a beige head. Roasted malts, pomegranate, and bourbon on the nose. Flavour is a blend of dark roast and tart fruit. The base is solid with good roast and bourbon. Sweetness from the pomegranate and tartness from the cranberries are very prominent. This is very enjoyable.

Cloudy orange ,medium white head. Candied grapefruit zest, citrus oils, oxidized malts. This stuff has a date of December 2023. Way to go LCBO....once again, hold on tons beer for way too long, unrefrigerated, and ruin it.

Can from the LCBO.
Cloudy yellow pour, with a small white head. Aroma is light citrus, and crackery cereals. Mouth feel is very thin, carb is very soft. Finish is very lightly bitter, watery citrus flavours.

Run off the mill hazy ipa.... Light tropical notes, wet paper muddled flavours, musty, stale cereals. Mouth feel and carb are ok. Medium bitterness, a big meh. Also congrats LCBO.... Another triumph. Bottled date is August 2022. How long did this sit in a warehouse in Toronto?
