[2002 Bottle - expired 1½ years ago] I'm going to do all three recommendations since I have a whole bottle to share with me, myself, and I. It only said a slight fiz when I opened it - is it the ago? It poures red like a kriek should do and with no head at all - doesn't look much like beer. [On the rocks] The aroma is quite faint of cherries - but still rather sweet. The flavor is sweet with rather strong notes of cherries, cinnamon, and cloves. Sweet at first, cherries in the middle and cloves and cinnamon lingering in the end. A bit thin for the alcohol content or is it the meltet ice? and a little cloying in the end. [6/3/6/3/13] [Room temperature] The aroma is of mature cherries rather warm than sweet. The flavor is sweet with a nice cherry note, this time not too sweet, and it is rather a cherry end only with hints of cloves and cinnamon. The body is also better. I think all this one misses is some carbonation. [6/3/7/3/14] [Hot] At long last it has a little head but it soon disappears. The color is a clearer red than at lower temperature. The aroma is of cherries and very sweet almost a little cloying. The flavor starts out sticky sweet with strong notes of over-ripe cherries giving way to primarily cinnamon. I think the end is good - yet still a bit sweet, but the over-ripe cherries in the beginning is a little too much for me. [6/4/6/4/14] I must admit than I don't like this as much as the rest of You - but don't misunderstand me - it's still a good beer. I'll recommend it at room temperature, but I'm looking forward to comparing it to Liefmans Glühkriek. And at last I owe Alex (fiulijn) a huge thank You for trading me this one, which is not available in Denmark. Thanks, Alex.

Colour is the same as the Cran and Apple, head the same. Strong peach and sugar scents. Smells like jam. Very slight smell of hops and carbonation. This one I'm not as keen on as the others. Jam with carbonation!

Pale golden colour, slightly cloudy. Fine white head. The aroma seems to be consisting of many citrus flavours...sugar,orange, cranberry are the three main ones. Slight scents of malt and alcohol even though its only 5.5%. This beer has a flavour of jam. Slightly over carbonated but enough to be very refreshing. The aftertaste is slim to none with berries and sugar. Watery finish.

During a stay at Epcot my wife suggested reservations for a steak restaurant she had heard was quite good at the Canadian area of the park. Steak sounded good despite the fact that I knew I would be charged probably like $45 for a $20 steak and having to suffer either a Moosehead or Molson to get it. I was surprised that they had this! Unibroue's beers are world class and this one is one of my favorites. Rich fruity aroma and complex malt and fruit flavors. An absolutely great beer.

Slightly cloudy golden body with a bright white head, Lots of apple, citrus/ orange and a small amount of alcohol scents. I was expecting alot more apple flavour but it just didn't come out of it. The aroma reminded me of a Niagara Brewing Company Apple Ale but the taste was so much better. Niagara I find is too potent, the apple flavour but this one was just right. Very refreshing. The flavour has apple and a light/watery ale taste. Small amount of yeastyness. The finish was clean, almost watery. Still, very refreshing!

Had from the bottle on New Years day 2004. Has aromas of fruit, apples and some cinnamon, a little alcohol and some yeast. Colour is a cloudy orangy yellow with a bight white head. I'm not sure what the black specks are in the bottom????? The beer is really carbonated, maybe a little too much. The body is fruity, just like the aroma. The middle has a definate alcohol vapour to it. A small amount of wine flavour to it. The finish is pretty clean. Slight yeasty flavour with alcohol.

The aroma is sweet with notes of chocolate and plums combined with a slight sourness. The color is pitch black and it has a beutiful light brown head. The flavor is sweet with notes of yeast, citrus, plums, and wood. It turns somewhat bitter combined with the sourness - which is a really good balance to the sweet start. A little too sour for my liking. But the body is good. Thanks a lot to Alex (Fiulijn) for trading me this one.

Bottle. Very dark brown/black beer with a bubbling beige head that fades quickly. There's an aroma of vanilla and spice with a little sweetness that begins to turn phenolic. The flavor is yeasty with a molasses/toffee and raisin combination. There's a lot of depth and the alcohol is there, but based on previous ratings I thought it'd be a little less. It's not overpowering. There's a little too much of a corn/adjunct flavor that takes away from the overall appreciation. It's good, but there are better.

Pitch black colour with a super-dense fast-dying brown head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, coriander seed, curacao and honey-canned corn. Medium to full-bodied; Sweet brown sugar/molasses flavour with corn and yeast qualities. Aftertaste is actually nice and bland-nothing offensive nor harsh. Overall, a decent beer-those odd corn/yeast flavours are present in all Unibroue beer are here in this bottle. I sampled this 750 mL bottle purchased from Merchant's in Dearborn, Michigan on 25-December-2003.

Fruity aroma with banana, raisin, berry and acidic apple notes. Pours a very dark, almost black chestnut brown topped by a nice frothy head. Fruity notes are in the taste again together with some dark sugar and leathery or wooden notes. Belgian yeast edges when exhaling, otherwise the strength is not obvious at all. Solid malt body and a smooth pearling mouthfeel.
