Cask at Flowerpot, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal cream head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts and dark fruits in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet, smooth and fruity with roasted malts, mixed (bitter and floral)hops, dark fruits and traces of citrus and blackcurrants. Later on oats and traces of alcoholic strength come through as well leading to a dry, fruity and slightly bitter finish. This is excellent ! Wonderfully complex and pretty much uncategorisable.

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours golden yellow with a small off-white head and good lacing. Tropical fruits and mango in the aroma. In the mouth it is slightly bitter and quite juicy. Floral hops and tropical fruits in the flavour, but the hops gradually come to dominate. Leading to a dry and bitter finish. It’s reasonable.

Handpull cask at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. Light to mid-gold, clear with a tiny smattering of white head and a fair bit of lacing. Hedgerow fruits, grassy notes and a touch of soap in the aroma. Bittersweet taste, lots of British hop flavour, more soap. Bitterness in the finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Oakham have been hit and miss for about 7 years in my opinion. They've recently had some wonderful beers but then something like this which isn't actively bad but just is so mid.

Can from Sainsbury's. It pours slightly hazy pale orange with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, zingy, juicy, lemon curd, grapefruit, custard cream biscuits, green fruits, melon, gooseberry fool, crunchy white grape and slightly unripe mango. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, light bitterness, green, grassy, pithy, zesty, lime peel, grapefruit, pomelo, kumquat, marmalade sandwiches, peppery edge, gummy bears and pine needles with a zesty finale. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Quaffable and fruity. Nice one.
