Cask at Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield. A pitch black beer with a bubbly brown head. The aroma has thick notes of caramel as well as notes of soy sauce and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as some sweet malt, leading to a dry roasted, and very bitter finish.

Cask, gravity at Merton Summer Beer Festival 16-07-10 Pours golden some haze with a white head. Aroma is really citrussy, loads of grapefruit flying off and with a nice maltiness there as well tying things together. The taste is grapefruity, nice bitter and pithiness, nicely malty, this is just so drinkable, I wasn’t sure of the hops used but dad seemed convinced that there was Nelson Sauvin in there and I reckon he could be right, lovely beer that us dangerously drinkable. I think that this may just have squeezed through as my beer of the festival. A8 A3 T9 P4 Ov17 4.1

Cask, handpump at The Queens Head, Marlpool, Nr Heanor Derbyshire 20-05-10 Brown with an off-white head. Tasty mild with a good nutty and malty base but being Oakham there was that inevitable hoppy undercurrent though this was well integrated and in no way distracted from from what they had intended this to be which was a decent stab at a mild. .
