Cask handpull at Market Porter, Borough. I think that this will be my lowest rated Oakham beer! Copper coloured, thin white head. Bit maltier than most of Oakhams with some red fruit and attractive hop aroma. Some strawberry in mouth and strong hop finish. Distinctive hop bitterness. I love the finish on this, mixed with the strawberry fruit and malt.

Cask handpull at Westgate JDW Canterbury Xmas 2004. Typical Oakham tasste but bit darker and maltier than the others, but still has that distinctive citrus hoppy notes that I love so much

Pale yellow, good creamy off-white head. Flowery hoppy, honey aroma in the nose. Light to medium bodied. Well-hoppied, bitter but lacks a decent malt profile.

Casked. Golden, a bit hazy colour, small foamy head. Fruitish sweet aroma with malty hints. Fruity sweet flavour with a bit hoppy finish. Smooth palate. A bit sticky palate afterwards.

Cask at Oakham Brewery Tap, Peterborough. This is almost as good as it gets. I have known a 9 of this disappear in a smallish pub in 6 hours. Wonderfully drinkable with all of the normal Oakhams bits (golden hoppy citrus zesty) but with a roundedness from the addition of malted wheat. Fabulous. Re-rate Planet Thanet Beer Festival 2007. I had this 4 times, first and last beer of each day and it was faultless, the citrus aroma, the body that is fuller due to the addition of wheat and this grapefruit/tangerine finish that lasts and lasts.

Cask at Oakham Brewery Tap, Peterborough. Don’t know if I like this as much as normal JHB. If I want a stronger beer with the same flavours, I would normally go for the Bishops Farewell. However still very good, zingy zesty tangerine grapefruit flavour.

Cask at Oakham Brewery Tap, Peterborough. What more can I say about Oakham beers. Golden, zesty, orange/tangerine with some grapefruit, zingy, hoppy dry and completely wonderful. This is no different but maybe slightly more creamy.

Cask at Oakham Brewery Tap, Peterborough. One of my favourite all time beers. It is like the JHB with all of the citric hoppiness and tangerine/grapefruit, but there is more body and structure to this beer that makes this stunning. A really good beer
