Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Struggled to pinpoint the style but I'm calling it a porter. Dark brown but incredibly translucent. A khakibhead on top. Roasted malts on the aroma, burnt toast and wood fires. Taste is nicely balanced, an odd vegetal note but otherwise tasty. Good body for the ABV, soft carbonation. Overall good.

Hand-pulled half-pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on Sunday 4th February 2024. Very dark ale, half-Porter, half-Winter Ale. malty, dry and bitter. Didn't really get the fruity flavours or the smoothness as advertised on the pump-clip.

Hand-pulled half-pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on Sunday, 4th February 2024. Clear light golden body, white affair on top. Slight citrussy front to this one, nothing special though!

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Pheasant Inn & Brewhouse on 22nd January 2024. Black bodied, tanned top, malty, smooth and semi-sweet, decent enough beer without any 'stand out' features or attributes. Light hop action for a slightly dry and bitter finish.

Handpull cask at the Black Horse, Aylestone. Mahogany, clear with a thin khaki head. Getting some stone fruit, a little bit of aniseed and a touch of ruby port on the nose. The sweetness doesn't last too long, as it hides a fairly intense bitterness that I wasn't expecting but it's certainly welcome. Drying vinous finish. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. One of the better Everards beers I've had.

Very dark brown, suitably translucent with a small khaki head. Scent of smoky malt aroma, some blackberry, a touch of balsamic vinegar. Bitter/sour taste, mote ginger and a touch of tobacco near the finish. Good but I wonder if the sourness is intentional or just bad conditioning. It calms a bit after a while so I'm guessing the former. Anyway it's an odd beer, not the best I've tried from Everards but certainly not one I'd have again.

Handpull cask at the Globe, Everards. Mid- to dark gold and clear with an off-white film of head and lots of lacing. Grassy aroma, some white grape, baked bread. Some astringency. Taste is nicely balanced with a good bitterness from the outset. Citrus notes for a short period before disappearing into a long bitter finish. Light body with minimal carbonation. Good beer from Everards.

Keg draught at the Globe, Leicester. Light gold and clear with the tiniest white head. Metallic notes in the aroma but I'm definitely getting the lime, some soft beady yeast as well. Pleasant taste, refreshing with more than a hint of salt. Light body with medium carbonation, maybe just on the low side. It's not a lager for the ages but it certainly does the trick in the middle of a heatwave. Nice one.

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. At fiest i was excited because i thought it said 'Cascadian' but no. Mid-golden and clear with a thin white head leaving a lot of lacing. Not a lot of aroma. Hoppy my ass. Light grassy and grape notes. Taste is sweet-ish with a sour tannic character on the finish. Like too-strong iced tea. Bitter citrus peel in the aftertaste. Meh. Everards have of late come up with some pretty nice beers but this is exceptionally dull.

Keg draught at the Old Horse, Leicester. Light to mid-gold and clear with a small layer of white head. Metallic and slightly astringent aroma. Taste is better with a suggestion of grassy hop before the astringent sourish note in the finish. Full body for the ABV with medium carbonation. Substandard.
