Cask at the Rose and Crown, Sandhurst. A slightly hazy amber pour with a scummy cream head that laced the glass nicely; real mix of aromas - some spicy Kentish hops mixing with pine, citrus and the matls; the taste is similar to start and quite muddy, but the grapefruit citrus wins in the end; and gives a sharp, lasting finish. Good, but with a few faults - perhaps too many hops spoil the beer?

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 7/7/2014. Deep gold with a frothy, off-white head. Sweet, husky, cereals, a touch of citrus hop and moderately bitter finish. So so drinking.

Bottle. Aroma is smoky, smoked ham, meety, lots of umami. Almost black colour. Taste is hard on the roasted flavour. Coffee, burnt, chocolate. Tobacco.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet as Co-ALE-ition Hope & Glory Single Hop IPA An email to the brewery revealed that this was Ultra.
A bright amber pour with a scummy looking cream head; biscuity malt aroma; fruity malt taste; and a light biscuity finish with a subtle bitterness. Rather quiet and restrained for an American hop.

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light rye, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, orange, hoppy, hop oil. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130328]

[ As Ascot Last of the Blue Devils #18 Smoked Stout ].Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark roasted - burnt, peat, smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, ash, dark roasted - burnt, roasted, peat, smoked. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140417]

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2014. Can’t believe I have never had this before. Clear very dark brown lasting beige head. Chocolate coffee yeast aroma. Some malt some wateryness it’s probably not in the best condition. Distinctly average.
