Hello, we’re Thistly Cross, Scotland’s award winning farmhouse ciders, born out of a passion for making cider in the best possible way, combined with belief in the quality of Scottish produce, and asking ‘why not?’. Established as a collaboration between farmer, Ian Rennie, and artist-turned-cidermaker, Peter Stuart, in 2008, Thistly Cross has gained a reputation for making ciders that people rave about.

Cask at heriot watt beer festival. Pours clear piss golden, nose is apple, solvent, rum, taste is dry, sweet apple, little thin.

Bottle split on the return Cotts X-Press to EUS, cheers to Lorna, 24/01/15. Clear light golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is apple orchard, sweet notes, straw. Taste comprises shortbread, sweet apple, light wood, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry close. Ok cider - we only hit 110mph - need to re-rate at 125 !!!

Bottle on the return train from Cotteridge, thanks to Lorna! It pours clear gold with a small white head. The nose is soft, clean, juicy apple, pear and some apple pie. The taste is bitter-sweet, juicy, apple, pear, apple pie and touch of sherbet with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good balance and high drinkability.

Bottle from Beer run. Crystal clear golden yellow color. Aroma of big ginger, apples. Taste is very sweet and spiced.

Bag in Box @ Central Bar, JDW, Shepherds Bush W12. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a small fast disappearing white head. Has a fruity spicy apple aroma. Fruity spicy apple flavor. Has a fruity spicy and slightly dry apple finish.
