Pours pale yellow color with white head. Aromas of apples, whiskey and wood. Sweet apple flavor with whiskey and wood. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Not as enjoyable as the regular version for me.

Cask at York Tap. Pours hazy light gold with a few bubbles. Light "whisky" aroma. Med body. Flavor is subtly sweet apple with mild whisky notes. There’s enough non-cider flavor to make this enjoyably drinkable for those of us who have difficulty appreciating plain cider. There doesn’t seem to be enough oak to make it astringent. However, it drinks far too easily.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours gold with tiny bubbles in the body, and bigger ones on top. Aroma is very strong - but doesn’t seem to be either whiskey or cider. Deep inhale adds some appleskin. It’s a nice overall aroma. Med body. Flavor is very astringent apple with a smooth flavor that must be from the barrels. It’s subtle compared to many things aged in scotch barrels. Finishes fairly dry, astringent, appley, and very lightly hinting of whiskey. Very lightly. Drinks nicely.

Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that starts at the edges and dissipates completely. Aroma has a good amount of whiskey with some sweet apple underlying. Flavor whiskey and cider work well on the tongue with sweet apple up front and a light whiskey note in the finish.

Bottle shared by Dallas. What a find in Alaska! Pours a clear golden color. A nice nose of rich apples, some light smoke. The flavor was initially just a excellent apple flavor, some tart apples, but then the smokiness grew on me, some wood as well. Very solid. Excellent.

Bottle. Pours with a crystal clear, medium yellow hued body with a medium sized white head that fades. Aromas are of dry apple, honey, mild sulfur, stewed/overripe fruit, champagne, toast. Lightly grassy. Flavors are medium to slightly fuller sweet, a bit flabby, low sulfur, a bit musty. Balance is not quite to my liking: acid is a touch sweet and lacking quite a bit of tannin to balance the acidity. Missing brightness. Nothing off otherwise. Tastes a bit old. Medium body and carbonation. Nothing too special.
