Cask-conditioned at the Hop Bunker, Cardiff 3/4/2016. Jet black and opaque, with a decent, off-white, head. Aroma of toasted malts, chocolate and liquorice, with a touch of toasty hop. Flavour was sweetish, with more chocolate, porridge oat creaminess and a dryish finish. Excellent.

Bottle thanks to swap with minutemat. Appearance - golden amber with a thin head. Nose - dried orange, a bit marmalade. Taste - more of the same. Marmalade shred. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - I’d say this was an English Pale Ale in style. Not amazing but I’d have another.
