Cask at Merton Winter Beer Festival. Clear gold lasting white head. Hoppy aroma I mean big hoppy aroma. Flowery. Lots of hops in the mouth almost like hop tea. Massive amount of hops.

Cask, gravity at Derby, Roundhouse, NWAF, Saturday 22nd February 2014 Pours black with just a few stray bubbles on the perimiter. A little smokey fudge on nose, the roastiness is slight, just a touch warm perhaps, smokiness showing more with a little clackiness in mouth and touch if fruit. Good but not my favourite from Hopcraft, served a tiny bit warm. Loz said I was being too tight with my ratings again and that this much better than 3.3, she’s right I have upped it a little. Cask, handpump at The Shoulder of Mutton, Wantage, Oxon, Tuesday 18th February 2014 Conker brown in colour with a small beige head atop. A little fruitiness on the nose and a touch of cocoa. Smooth and very easy drinking there is some chocolate (milk) in the mouth, trying to see if I can detect the yeast character, there is a little infused dried fruits. Its a very good beer, we had this alongside the XT Animal/Elephant Collaboration, both of these were very good beers. Looking forward to the whisky cask version now. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

Cask, handpump at The Shoulder of Mutton, Wantage, Oxon, Tuesday 18th February 2014 This was a hugely popular beer this evening and had run out by the end of yhe night. As expected it was gold but a warmer gold, looked good. Tasted stronger and more fuller bodied than I was expected, slick with an initial sweetness that moved onto a pleasant and surprisingly hoppy bite and finish, the description is spot on. Fruity but in a way I find that this just lured you in, with a sweet fruity start in some respects it had more in common with The Beast than some sone of Gazza’s more hpp forward crisp, bitter offerings. Really good. I know we’ve got this Merton but it looked good and was so popular I had to have one... or two. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9

Cask, handpump at The Sportsman, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Friday 14th February 2014 Pours warm gold slim white head, and much like Brother Rabbit a superb looker. Thick in mouth with a great bittersweet tussle going on. Really good hoppy thrust, quite a contrast when drunk alongside the Brother Rabbit. A long lasting furry fresh hoppy bitterness coats the mouth. Great stuff. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear amber-brown with a thin, tan cream head. Mild smoke in the nose along with burnt plastic and mud. Light sweet flavor, quite muddled, more mud, burnt plastic, faint smoked ham, some swamp water. Light to medium bodied with fine, soft carbonation. Muddy finish with more swamp water, background smoked malts, melted plastic, earth. Very little goodness here.
