Cask at CPK, London. Pours clear yellow with a fine, foamy head. Toasty biscuit nose. Medium sweet flavor with some dry biscuits, light toasty sugar, a bit of sweet hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet to finish with light, bitter hay, some mild white sugar and biscuity malts. Fine, easy drinking beer. A very decent cask lager.

Cask at CPK, London. Pours hazy amber-red with a long, fluffy white nose. Has a toasty caramel nose, with some wood and dry grass. Light to medium sweet with oily and toasty grass and burnt caramel. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finish holds some burnt grass and wood, along with burnt caramel and a few resinous pine notes. OK.

(Cask at Euston Tap, Euston, London, 22 April 2012) Reddish brown colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, toasty nose with crisp-bread, dried fruit, prunes and roasted grain. Roasted, malty taste with notes of dark bread, toast, dried fruit, raisins, nuts and a slightly bitter-sweet finish. Medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Quite nice.

(Cask at Euston Tap, Euston, London, 22 April 2012) Golden amber colour with brief head. Malty nose with notes of toast, apricots and orange. Malty taste with toast, apricots, dried fruit and slightly dusty hops in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite decent.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear, red-brown with a tight, yellow-beige foam head. Leafy hops, dirt and bready toast in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with a strong bitterness of earth, dirt, grass and wood. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Semi-dry finish with sturdy hops. Grassy, fairly earthy. Some gritty toast. Leaves. Could stand to be a bit sweeter, but not bad as is.

On tap at the CP&K. Clear amber - gold beer. Tidy off white head. Slightly soft palate, a little dry. Sweetish malt, mild toffee - caramel with tangy orange citrus hops. Semi dry finish with some bitter linger. Not bad at all.

On tap at the CP&K. Clear amber beer, not much of a head. Light dry palate. Tangy tea like malt. Skewed bitterness. Semi dry finish. Nowt wrong with this but it is just so dully English conservative that it hurts!

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear, red-gold with a foamy, bubbly white head. Toasted straw, grain and light pine in the nose. Toasty-bready flavor, lightly sweet with some dirty leaves, a bit of pine and grass, some citrus peel. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sweet to finish, and the bitterness turns a bit more abrasive. Grassy, piney, with more orange rind. Decent beer overall. The balance ain’t perfect but it’s alright.
