Bottle from Rock Bottom in Denver: Pale golden color with a medium thin white head and thin rings of lacing. Vinegar dominates the nose making me wary of a bad bottle. Light-bodied and astringent, tasting of stale malt and vinegar. The finish is overly tart with more sourness. Assuming Rock Bottom is carrying old stock, either way this was pretty much undrinkable.

Too many hops to be a bitter; definitely some sort of pale ale. Upfront and powerful herbal hop aroma. Light gold appearance. Flavor is hops, lemongrass, yawn clippings and dry herbs. Flavor makes me think of a light "hop wallop." Tasted at Cellars; St. Paul, MN.

Eyedrinkale pulls out another killer... penguin that is. And an old one 2002 bottle. Poured dark amber with some lacing. Aroma is strong - a very mellowy old ale - definite presence with the plum/raison alcohol but with a strong fruit presence underneath that. Taste is amazingly mellow - no alcohol presence at all. Really strong heavy fruit flavor - heavy cherry. Grainy and malty as well. Finishes with absolutely no bitterness.

Bottle. Malty aroma, quite hoppy. Cloudy copper colour, small head. Very nice flavour: quite malty, caramel/bonbon, aroma hops. A bit sweet. Nice.

On tap @ Mellow Mushroom. Clear yellow beer with tiny white head. Aroma is strong with bananas, smoked malts, yeast spiciness and some sweet malts. A lot going on. It turns out the big banana aroma isn’t the main flavor. I taste Vienna type malts, yeast spiciness, apples and then some banana. Real interesting beer.

Pour is a bright fizzy yellow with a white head. Aroma is nice. A miix of lemon and clove. Flavor is a bit watery but there is a tiny bit of banana and citrus but again it is all watered down way to much. Would not get it again.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a very dark brown - close to black - with a reddish hue and a small, beige head. Sweetish, roasted malt aroma. Medium body with lots of sweet, roasted malty flavours and loads of chocolate accents. Slightly burned finish with touches of aroma hops. A very pleasant brew. 060706

Clear light amber color with small white head. Aroma is strong grapefruit hop aroma and maybe a hint of malt sweetness. Hops is the flavor profile, beginning, middle and end. I taste grapefruit and citrus hops that combine mainly a bitterness and a bit of hop flavor too. Fresh tasty hoppy beer that leaves a pleasant hoppy aftertaste.

Slightly murky, darkish amber with a sudsy off-white head. Aromas are unremarkable... grass, caramel, maybe a little lemon and yeast (?)... something is reminiscent of a wheat beer here. Flavor is OK. Caramel comes through big, a bit of a soapy taste, though and then some light fruit and hops pick up the tail end. Finishes a little watery, however.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, pilsener golden with a creamy, white head. Extremely fruity and citrusy. Medium-bodied with some accents of caramel. Lots of citrus - grapefruitish - with a quinine like bitterness. Extremely fresh. 110606
