Formerly know as Brasserie de Saint-Sylvestre, the brewery now uses the 3 Monts brand as their name.

Located in French Flanders, in Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel, 3 MONTS Brewery is a family independent brewery since 1920. The name 3 MONTS comes from the Cassel, Cats, and Récollets hills, an outstanding feature of the local landscape. Passed from father to son since 1920, the brewery today produces beers that evoke the richness of the land and the legendary flemish conviviality. Proud of its origins and heritage, the brewery strives to promote Flemish culture beyond its borders, transmitting values of: • Strength of character • Conviviality • Generosity.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Vintage 2011 Bottle, Pours a lovely golden/amber color with a thin white head.Malty and fruity aroma. Flavour of sweet malt, caramel, lots of fruit, flowers, a bit alcoholic finish. Not bad but could easily be more complex and balanced.

750ml "3 Monts Classic Golden Ale". Pours with a clear golden body with a lasting and thick and lasting white head that leaves some good lace. Aromas are of grassy, bready, grainy, honey, biscuit, floral, but pretty clean yeast wise. Light vanilla, pils and a touch earthy. Flavors are bready, floral, light lemon zest, earthy, clean, biscuity. Somewhat minerally. Bland. Lively bubbles, medium dry, clean.

Pours yellow with a large, lasting head.Nose shows bready malt, wheat, lemon hints, soft apple and floral notes.Pretty full-on flavours, a bit of booze, metallic notes, grainy notes. Quite rich.Slightly over-carbonated.A bit grainy/metallic.

Bottle as Brassin d’Hiver. Clear amber/brown with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, yeast, caramel, anise and spices. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit, yeast, hops, spices, anise, little sweet and medium bitter.
