Description
Lagabière was born in November 2012. Brothers Sébastien and Francis Laganière opened the doors of their brewery in the heart of Old St. Jean, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Initially offering only one of their beers and a few beers, the inventory has grown rapidly, offering only locally brewed products. With a capacity of 20 beers in service, the offer is very diversified. Each recipe is original and brewed with extreme rigor. Today, after more than sixty original recipes created, Lagabière also offers a range of imported beers, quality alcohols and a homemade food menu, incorporating as much beer as possible.

473mL can, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of passionfruits, light peaches, and citrus hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with passionfruit, peaches, and citrus hops. Fruity, citrusy, and lightly tart. Good stuff.

Opaque, thin head. There's a fair bit of passion fruit on the nose, then a bit of yeastiness and a splash of alcohol. Decent bitterness, a weedy hop note with grapefruity bitterness and then some more passionfruit in the finish. Good.

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy pale yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops floral undertones with some light tropical fruit notes. Taste is a great mix of citrusy hops notes with huge floral undertones, some grassy notes with light tropical flavours and some residual sugar notes. Body is full with good level of carbonation. Quite the hops flavours profile for a session type IPA.

A golden blonde ale with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light lemon notes, lactic acid, Epsom salts, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity papaya mix with light acidity, Epsom salts, resinous and piney hops, very nice and complex. On tap at Oktoberfest de Repentigny 2018.

Lagabiere Ta Pire This is an exclusive for Peluso the most famous bottle shop (now a mini-chain of 2) in Montreal. It’s a cherry milkshake IPA that is a reddish okie with a big fruity cherry aroma. The taste is cherry, pith & pit, sweet lactose and is overall an ok brew. The best of the Ta Series was the classic NEIPA - Ta Meilleure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
