Description
Lagabière was born in November 2012. Brothers Sébastien and Francis Laganière opened the doors of their brewery in the heart of Old St. Jean, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Initially offering only one of their beers and a few beers, the inventory has grown rapidly, offering only locally brewed products. With a capacity of 20 beers in service, the offer is very diversified. Each recipe is original and brewed with extreme rigor. Today, after more than sixty original recipes created, Lagabière also offers a range of imported beers, quality alcohols and a homemade food menu, incorporating as much beer as possible.

Hazy golden-amber colour with a frothy-bubbly, white head, decent stay and some light soapy lacing. Pineapple fruitiness with some hop grassiness, and hints of coconut, oats in the background. Gets hazier as it pours with lots of particles coming out of the can. Citrus zest with their mild juices for flavours with a wet mouthfeel. Some sharper zestiness shows up, but does not go into big dryness. Not a whole lot of coconut, nor pineapples in the taste. A good NEIPA on its own, but not really what is advertised.

A very dark brown, almost black colour with mild copper highlights. The head is mocha-coloured, frothy, fizzing away with some soapy lacing spots left. Roasted malt base aromas with molasses, and hints of dark fruits, plus the oranges. Stout, burnt barley taste at first, with the oranges lingering in the finish. Some decent building dryness with the burnt wood notes. Good bitterness comes out of this. A nice stout with the orange touch, good dryness, bitterness.

Hazy-murky, golden-beige colour with a frothy-creamy white cap, decent stay and nice lacing. The nose is a nice blend of guava-banana with some kiwi sourness. The sour notes are even more present in the taste with the fruits blending behind. The coconut milk is very faint in here, all-around. Pomegranate is nicely balanced in the flavours. A nice smoothie sour, but nothing like the Bas-Canada of this style.
