Description

Huge, pale beige head over hazy reddish brown beer. Sweet nose with dark malts, bit madeirisated character, and a clear hint at chocolatemalts. Dry coffee, even tad powdery feel, then more slick, roasted maltsyrup. Brown breadspread (Marmite, horror or horrors?). Bit spicy, cypress. Medium bodied, feels heavier than it probably is. OK, this is better than homebrew. But not anymore characterful than a brown/blond from the inexhaustibel Du Bocq beerchain.

Huge, dense & fine slightly yellowish head over cloudy orange-golden beer. Huge UFO’s on the bottom. Spicy, yeasty nose; dried herbs, coriander?, orangepeel, maybe white candi sugar. Fake citrus, very dry, enlivened by CO² and other faint acidity; bit of bananaester. Spritzy carbonation, quite slick, medium bodied. Average, nowhere bad.

Thanks. Sampled @ ZBF 2014. Dark brown, thick mocha head. Smells of sweet mocha, basic chocolate, toffee and instant chocolate milk powder. Tastes of mocha, caramel, touch bitter, cheap chocolate and instant chocolate milk. Body feels light for the style. Nice beer but one that pales in comparison with others from the same style.

11/IV/14 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 28/IX/15 (2014-363)
Clear dark purple brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: caramel, dried fruits, raisins, sugary, hint of banana, some cocoa powder. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body, thick texture. Taste: very chocolaty start, then alcohol in the nose becomes powerful while drinking, lots of overripe banana, bit sour, dusty, little chemical. Aftertaste: lots of banana, caramel, sugar, way too boozy to be really enjoyable, mocha, bit sourish.

Intense raspberry scent , very natural ( not sour, not sweetened ) Good carbo . Very natural raspberry taste, again , this does not taste sweetened , and its not based on lambic , so is not sour , Not much taste besides the raspberries . than again, I do like raspberries ...
