Description

Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours unclear blonde. Small white head. Smell is weak, bit yeasty. Nearly no hops. Taste is bitter, mostly yeasty, some Sugar. How is this named simcoe as specific, when you cannot even taste the hops?

Sample @ Zythos’16, courtesy of and shared with the RB Belgian crew.

Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, some yeasts, some grassiness. Taste is dough and malts, nice sweet fruits (apricots, peaches). High carbonation, but also an oily mouthfeel. Good enough.

Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ ZBF 2016. (Thank you for sharing RB people!) Dark brown, little tanned head. Nose is sweet leaves, low cacao powder, improving it a bit, basic candy & brown sugar. Taste is a bit empty, herbal, licorice, cloves, sugar, bit empty, tad dull, low cacao powder, saves it a bit for me. Better than expected, nothing great but some mild redeeming qualities.

Sampled @ ZBF 2016 (Thank you for sharing RB people!) Lightly hazy citrus off-white. Nose is massive yeast, herbal, stale white bread, sugar, yeast dominates totally, whatever hop I get here is green & vegetable. Taste is massive dull plaster yeast, big moldy yeast, sugar, dough, not really getting any hop here at all. Yeasty plaster body. Whatever hop there was here is totally lost in the dull plaster yeast. Not a fan at all, going my rating, it seems like I like this one even less than the regular one.

23/IV/16 - 33cl bottle @ Zythos Bierfestival 2016 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2016-420) Thanks to the BE RB crew for sharing beers today!

Clear bright blond to orange beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sewer, rotten eggs, pretty bad. A hint of citrus in the back. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, ripe melons, soft bitterness, orange peel, bit metallic. Aftertaste: some sweet finish, slightly hoppy bitterness in the end, not getting much simcoe.
