Description

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 14 Sep 2016) Reddish brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, dark fruit, a touch of blueberries and hints of smoke. Malty taste with caramel, dark berries, blackberries, roasty malt, brown sugar and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, quite sweet. Tasty and warming, quite well balanced for its strength. Nice one.

Very old bottle from the recesses of the cellar. Hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has modest carbonation. Light malts, some oxidised caramel. Mild floral bitterness. Tangy dried fruits. Light dry finish. Aged but fine.

Bottle from 2009 at Cellar cleanup tasting at Deanso’s. Courtesy of kermis. Sweet caramel malts, leathery bitterness, light oak, chestnut, vanilla, all very smoothened out. Over medium body, soft feel and bittersweet nutty dry finish.
