Description
Dany De Smet, a brewery engineer, and his wife Dany De Smet, a brewery engineer, started brewing beer "in the kitchen" in very small quantities (about 50 liters per brew). In 1999 the couple decided to start a beerfirm so in 2000 Slaapmutske was founded. In order to meet the ever-increasing demand, we decide to work together with the Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi to brew the beer there under license.

Bottle, Belgian Belly, Manchester. Poured a hazy amber with a great big chefs hat of a head which dissipated yet lingered some. Yeasty, malty aroma. Bit of lace. Quite full bodied. Flavour had some citrus, spice and yeast and was generally well poised. Not bad to wash down a well cooked full english with, never mind the nightcap....

Bottle. It has a yellowish golden body, topped by a medium-sized white head. The aroma has a nice sweetness and fruityness, with pale malt and some spicy notes. Some sweetness, pale malt and a little spicyness in the mouth. I’m sure it would be nice as a summer beer, it’s not as sweet as many blond beers, and quite refreshing. A bit too much alcohol though, even though it’s not much alcohol taste. (080411)
