Brouwerij Slaapmutske owns 1 brewery:
Description
Dany De Smet, a brewery engineer, and his wife Dany De Smet, a brewery engineer, started brewing beer "in the kitchen" in very small quantities (about 50 liters per brew). In 1999 the couple decided to start a beerfirm so in 2000 Slaapmutske was founded. In order to meet the ever-increasing demand, we decide to work together with the Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi to brew the beer there under license.

Hazy golden ale with a thick unctuous off white head light floaties in bottle. Aroma is lightly reminiscent of Orval, with the light Brett nose, herbaceous, light caramel, very dry. In mouth, a crisp malt with gummy residual sugar, extended coriander taste in mouth, good hops, medium bodied. A very decent tripel. Bieropholie imports, BB 28-03-10.

A lightly hazed brown ale with a thick off white head. Smell of caramel, with musty notes, and dark fruits, like stewed prunes, light yeasty notes. In mouth, a clean crisp nutty roasted nuts malts, burned caramel, with light herbal notes, some light licorice. Considering its lower alcohol content, this one is rich and generous. Bieropholie imports, BB 28/02/10.

11.2oz bottle. Deep chestnut brown color with a large, frothy head. Lots of spice intermixed with chocolate and candi sugar. I’m a big fan of Belgian Christmas ales, but I find this beer to be just a little off. The cocoa flavors really carry the beer, but the aroma is a little skunky and it also comes through in the taste. Would like to try one fresh in Belgium. Tastes a little like it’s been sitting in the Kulminator for the better part of a decade.
