Bottle - Big toffee and caramel notes with wood. Cloudy copper. Dark Woody, almost cedar and toffee. Very nice.

Cask at the Mill Inn. It pours clear gold with a medium white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, floral, honey, grass, biscuit and cereal. The taste is smooth, mellow bitterness, white bread, porridge, biscuit, grass, hay and a touch of spice. Medium body and soft carbonation. Well rounded and easy drinking. 7, 3, 7, 3, 14 - 3.4. Update - cask at the brewery. Fresher and more bitter. Rather nice stuff. 3.5

Cask at Mill Inn. It pours darkest brown - black with a small beige head. The aroma is earthy roast, liquorice, treacle, umami, dried berry, fruit compote and malt loaf. The taste is dry, roasted malt, toast, earth, coffee, mild fruity tartness, quite light, blackcurrant and raspberry pip with a dry, earthy finish. Light body and soft carbonation. A decent fruity mild.

Bottleshare on the England Football team night of shame! Thanks to Leighton. Almost opaque brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Smooth malts, mellow dark character. Mild spice into spicy esters. Light semi dry finish. To be frank, a typically okay beer from this brewery.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium size dark brown foamy head with some retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with nice black chocolates notes is pretty awesome. Taste is a nice mix of chocolate malt with light roasted malt with limited oak presence that rounds off any rough edges to this beer. Body is full with oily like texture and medium carbonation with no apparent alcohol. This is pretty quintessential English style stout with smooth flavours and easy drinking notes and without any extreme cloying flavours.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s place, 27/06/2016. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. A mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose beige head. Aroma is nutty malts, earthy brown bread, twig, tangy red berry. Flavour is composed of bitter toasted nutty malts, brown bread, hints of liquorice, bitter tangy woodland berries. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, slightly creamy. Nice.
