Description
A lot goes into making great tasting beer and spirit. It takes the right ingredients delicately balanced together to produce that great taste you’re looking for. It takes experience and a team of brewmasters and distillers who are dedicated to the craft of beverages. It takes an understanding of what people want when they crack one open on a warm summer night, a weekend spent catching up with good friends, or at the end of a long hike.

At Prickly Moses Brewing Co we think it takes all of the above, but we also think it takes something else. We call it Otway magic, but you might know her as Mother Nature. We’re an independent brewery and the home of the Prickly Moses Brewery, Forbidden Fruit Cidery and Redwood Distillery. Some local brands you know and love.

Bottle at L42 - thanks to Tipple. It pours dark brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, oily, roasted malt, tangy citrus vibes, resin, chocoalte and orange sherbet. The taste is dry, bitter, charred wood, pithy, zesty, range peel, piney, resin, toffee, cocoa and some rawness with a drying finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Decent enough gear.

From a 330ml bottle on 8/11/2017. Pours a murky light golden with a small head. The aroma features some yeast and fruit. Flavour wise, it's sweet and fruity (mainly apricot), with a fairly muted, slightly spicy but lingering bitterness. Full bodied with quite a heavy mouthfeel, but this is the only hint as to the size of the beer. Doesn't drink like 10.4% and I could have quite easily downed another after the first. Could use a little more oomph, but I enjoyed it more as I went along.

From a 330ml bottle on 3/11/2016. Pours a dark, dark brown with the barest of heads. The aroma features light chocolate and roasted malt, with some basement notes. Flavour wise, it’s got heaps of sweet chocolate and some caramel, against a background of roasted malt and licorice, with a good dash of vanilla in the mix. It actuall comes together really nicely, sispalying length of palate and quite a bit of complexity. The texture is slick and the carbonation moderate. I really enjoyed this one.
