Light amber colour. Light pale malt, fusel and grassy hop aroma. Mild bitterness from noble varieties, light pale malt sweetness and macroish acidity on the palate. Why are so many macrobrews tart like this?

Cear golden colour. White longlasting head. A little sweet malty aroma. A crisp taste but a little watery. Some malty flavor too. Not much bitterness in the aftertaste.

330 ml bottle, as "Sapporo Premium Lager", brewed "under license in the EU". Ingredients are water, malts, hops and hop extract - no maize (corn) or rice here. Different recipe? Bought in Norway at Ultra. ABV here is 4.7%, to comply with our 4.75% upper limit for beers sold in grocery stores. Pale golden colour, large head. Flowery sweet aroma, not unpleasant. Flavour is surprisingly clean tasting, no sign of adjuncts and off-flavours, tolerable hops. Well, it’s a light bodied pale lager - I don’t expect miracles, but it sure was a lot better than I feared.

Bottle/Can. Not great, but not too bad overall. Enjoyed it. It does go quite nice with a japanese meal.

This beer examplifies Japanese women, Chad and I just can’t agree about it at all. I had a nice thick white head over the golden brew that wouldn’t cease. The nose had some excellent European hops (not saaz I don’t think, but something else from around the Czech) and nice toasty malts. The body is hop accented and finish is bitter and dry with just a touch of toasted malts. Yummy, this is how Pils should be. The best or second best pils in Japan IMO.

Bottle. Golden with white head. Quite mild nose, with some malt-aroma. Not much else. Malty flavour with some floral hints in the background. Not much bitterness. (050926)

Can. Barley and soy sauce aroma. Golden amber color with small head. Strong soy sauce flavor - corn/rice grain flavor as well. This was the first Asian beer I ever tried - attributed the soy sauce flavor to the food but trying it again with no Asian food in sight, it has to be the beer. Could probably get the same flavor by putting a couple drops of soy sauce in a light beer.

Bottle. Mild sour malt aroma. Light golden yellow color with little head and no efferverscence. Slightly sweet plum and malt flavor. Light body. A pleasant beer with a meal - the plum flavor is unique but a pretty light beer.

Pour is yellow with a white head. Aroma and flavor are almost non-existant. Bland as the blandest lager can be.
