Draught at the brewpub (January batch)
Dark amber color, quite clear. Dry, a not weak, but the dark malt flavor is papery and dusty; ordinary bitterness.
Nothing exciting.

On tap at Big River, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toffee, toasted nuts, and a touch of dark dried fruits. Flavour is fairly boozy, with bready malt, dry toffee, and alcohol. Pretty nice balance, despite the hotness. Okay doppelbock.

On tap at Big River, pours a cloudy opaque yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out light funk, lactic notes, some tart citrus, and acidity. Flavour is strange, with soapy floral hops, light tartness, and some zest. Too soapy, with medium citrus acidity. Weird stuff. Not terrible but there's something wrong here.

On tap at Big River, pours a cloudy golden blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of soapy floral notes - not much else. Flavour is bizarre, with muddy yeast, medium tartness, and subtle peachiness. Not cohesive, too yeasty, and with a rather sharp acidity on the end. Not good at all. Needs work.

On tap at Big River, pours a hazy amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light toasted malt and bready notes - pretty dull. Flavour is restrained, with toasted malt, some cleaner-like off-notes, and vegetal notes. Lots off-notes - something wrong here. Not good.

On tap at Big River, pours a cloudy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral and piney hops, and just enough dry biscuity malt to back. Flavour is very fruity and hoppy, with floral hops, pine, tropical fruitiness, and fuzzy biscuity malt. Well-balanced, with prominent fruitiness and a nice hop profile. Good stuff.

On tap at Big River, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of grass and vegetal notes. Flavour brings out boiled vegetables, grass, and crisp biscuity malt. Not terrible, but pretty weak with the vegetal notes.

On tap at Big River, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out grassy hops upfront, with maybe a touch of corn. Flavour is hopped big time, with resinous and piney hops - tastes like an IPA or IPL to me. Quite nice actually - lots of flavour and well-balanced. Good.

Hazy and very pale. Lots of lacto. Bit of canned peach character. Clean, very refreshing, with subtle, sweet fruitiness. I liked this better than the Four Winds one...times are changing down at Big River.

Cheeky name...asking for trouble? Hazy amber. Rye up front on the nose, then floral hops like a rose garden. On the palate, the rye contributes a noticeable richness, and there is light bitterness. There’s a little brett, but just a little.
