Our goal is simultaneously to create new interpretations of classic styles and to ignore those same style guidelines completely and brew whatever our creative natures produce.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown/black with a slight creamy dark tan head. Aroma is lots of dark roast/burnt malt with notes of anise and chocolate. Full bodied. Almost creamy. It’s bitter burnt malt and bitter dark chocolate. Anise floats in and out. I’m not having any luck finding heat. Not even in the gullet. It’s starting be realized by the brain tho. This is very smooth, and way too easy to drink.

2018-12-05, draught at Parallel 49, Vancouver, 7-5-7-3-15=37
Black colour with thick brown head. Some cardboard and phenol in the aroma. The body is strong and lean, mild sugar level, strong roasted nuts flavour with some liquorice, and minimal dark chocolate.
Tailored for seeker of roastiness.

The color is almost black, the head is small. Mild aroma of roasted malt. The flavor is different than the average, it has the roasted malts and light coffee, but the body is much leaner, and the sweetness is very limited; the bitterness level is well balanced; hints of liquorice in the end.
Very drinkable beer, pleasant, balanced, fresh.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small beige / tan head. Nose brings out roasted malt, some black chocolate, and some slightly burnt notes. Flavour is highly roasted, with loads of roasted malt, black unsweetened chocolate, and mildly burnt notes. Very robust and roasted, without any residual sweetness - just how I like my impie stouts. But it's not very complex or round, leaving a bit to be desired. Good stuff though.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with little head. Aromas of dusty dry chocolate, burnt malts, and black coffee. Flavors of vanilla, chocolate, espresso, and heavily roasted malts. Quite tasty and quite warm.

On tap at the Holiday Ale Fest. Who is Scut or Scott Farkus? Wait, I googled it. The bully from Christmas Story. Bonus points! Pours a reddish brown color with a medium tan head. A big fruity nose, some pine and sweet toffee. Not getting gummy bears (!), but sweet at times, some toffee, nutty, big fruity hops. Caramel. Very enjoyable.

Crisp golden coloured body with a light copper glow and a thin, half a centimetre tall white head with thousands of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of yeast, honey, flowers, light malt, alcohol and a pungent note of coriander seed. Full-bodied; Rich malty flavour with a good twang of yeast, light earthy hops, alcohol and a good candy sweetness with a hint of fruit. Aftertaste has a nice balance of fruit notes, some malt, alcohol, yeast and a good deal of floral and honey tastes. Overall, a nice well-balanced beer with some floral notes and a nice sweetness at the end. Great to sample and well worth bringing back home! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 27-September-2013 for US$8.31 sampled at home in Washington a few hours before leaving to return back to Portland on 05-December-2013.

Crisp clear golden orange coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of bread, herbal hops, grass, grapefruit and a quite a bit of perfumey hops - nice and strong. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy, herbal and perfumey hop flavour up front with a light malt backbone, some lighter sugars and a bit of bread and yeast tucked in with the faintest bit of barnyardie flavours. Aftertaste shows mostly grassy and herbal hops with some light malt and spicy belgian yeast notes coming in through the back. Overall, a mild and refreshing APA with an emphasis on grassy, herbal and especially perfumey hops coupled with a light malt backbone. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Pearl Specialty Market in Portland, Oregon on 27-September-2013 for US$4.99 sampled at home in Washington on 30-November-2013.

Bottle. Bit of a gusher for some reason, but once that was over I was left with a hazy red amber beer with a small beige creamy head and nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, pine needles, caramel, leaves. Flavor follows, a nice resinous caramely mix that signals a red IPA done RIGHT. Light sweet and light bitter, a bit of bitterness lingering to the finish. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. Nice effort.
