Description
Real cider and perry from the county of Herefordshire in England.

Oliver's make a selection of fine Herefordshire ciders and perries with an emphasis on "balance" and "character" coupled with "drinkability".

Based around the spontaneous ferment of selected varieties of cider apple and perry pear from fruit grown in Herefordshire and the surrounding 3 Counties orchards.

Nominally referred to as "minimal intervention", we strive to "take what the fruit gives", respecting the great heritage and traditions of the past but with an eye to innovating for the future. What that really means is we mill and press great fruit, expose the juice to marauding and hungry wild yeasts and then for our part blend and bottle the resulting ferments.

Bottle shared @ Van Moll Brewpub. Clear pale golden color, no head. Aroma is quite sweet, while the taste has less sweetness and is quite dry. Didn’t expect that after the initial aroma. Surprising cider, not the best maybe but certainly interesting.

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 London Sunday Tasting - Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell. Pours clear, pale yellow with a few bubbles. Moderately sweet, lightly dry and musty, with lots of apple skin. Light to medium bodied with fine texture. Musty finish with more tannic apple skins, basement, cobwebs. Novel.

Bottle from Oddbins. Appearance - orange with just the slightest trickle of a bubble. Good. Nose - very dry apples but big oak note. Taste - more dry apples and oak. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it’s good. The oak is prominent. Would like to see a slightly bigger ABV up against this oak.

bottle from Darts Farm Topsham. Wow, a hop-infused cider! Deep golden colour, hardly any hops detectbale in the nose. Very tasty cider with a hoppy touch in the very far background. Interesting, unusual and really good.

Draught @ Euston Cider Tap. Pours a disturbingly dark and murky brown, but boasts a surprisingly smooth mouthfeel with overripe mushy apples and a subtle tannic tang. A very nice and somewhat original cider.
