Bottle from Euston Cider Tap, drunk at home. Clear yellow-gold, moderate carbonation. Scent of grapefruit from the hop, combined with floral and apple notes. A lovely bittersweet taste, very citrusy both from hop and fruit. Sweet/sour finish and aftertaste. Simple yet delightful. This really, really works.

500ml bottle. Clear yellow-orange golden colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of tart apple, barnyard, woody oak. Taste is apples, apple skin, oak, vanilla, barnyard, bittersweet with some tannin. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dry sourish tannic finish. Very drinkable.

Bag in a box. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is perry fruity and light sulphorish. Lingering dry fruity finish.

75cl bottle from Tom Oliver. Pours gold with a beautiful vanilla nose. Taste is moderately sweet with light touches of pear and vanilla and some brilliantly dusty tannins massaging the tongue. Another excellent perry from Olivers, with true character.

Bottled. A light yellow perry. The aroma has notes of pears and tannins. The flavor is acidic with an underlying sweetness and notes of pears and tannins, leading to tart finish.

Draft @ Beer in Hand, Hereford. I hope this is the same as the bottled version rated below. This is uncharacteristic Olivers to me, its flavour presenting a very thin and dry blend with a coarse woodiness and gum-sucking dryness without any of the trademark fruitiness that Tom has perfected over the years. Mind you, in this kind of place that’s precisely what the locals want I expect.

Plastic jug sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Filled from cask at Beer In Hand, Hereford, England. Thanks Dagan. Golden-colored. Aroma is sulphuric, medicinal and a bit funky, with apples and light citric hints. Dry flavor, has some bitterness and a tart green apple peels finish with some astringency. OK.

Polycask @ NWAF 2013, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Light unclear medium yellow color with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate apple, sweet apples, sharp, acetone notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, green apples, sweet apples, sharp, dry, light "chicken butt". Body is medium, texture is oily - watery, carbonation is flat. [20130124]

Cask / Bag in a Box @ Euston Cider Tap. Fairly dry one this, with plenty of tannins, nice and rough around the edges with a nice farmhouse feel and a little straw here & there. Bit too acidic, although the oak balances that out. Wouldn’t mind trying a bottle of this.
