Keg at the Pony Bar UES - NYC. Pours faint hazy gold with a ring of white cream for a head. Light toasty dough in the nose. Has an interesting flavor, with strong notes of honey, light berry teas, moderate sweetness, mild straw and faint, toasty grass bittereness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Biscuity malt finish, light to medium sweet, with faint honey, dough, crackers, toasty straw and mellow, dry citrus notes. Enjoyable.

Location: Draft at Blind Tiger, 4/8/13
Aroma: The nose is roasted malt dominant with some chocolate, and some pine/citrus hops
Appearance: This one poured a dark brown-black color with a beige head and some lace
Flavor: The taste, like the nose, is mix of roasty and bitter, leaning more roasted
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent feel to it, and a slightly dry finish as well
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid example of the style, and I enjoyed drinking it. I've been pretty impressed by my recent Greenport beers, everything they make seems to be very solid or even better.

Location: Draft at Bling Tiger, 4/8/13
Aroma: The nose has some fruitiness, spice, saison yeast, and a bit of grass as well
Appearance: This beer pours a clear golden color without much head or lace to it
Flavor: The taste is nicely balanced between the spice, yeast, doughy malts, sweetness, and grass
Palate: The body is fairly light, with a bright, clean feel, a fizzy carbonation, and a sharp, clean finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid one overall. It is a light, easy to drink beer, that still has plenty of flavor to it. A nice seasonal offering for drinking as the weather starts to warm up (as it finally has this week!)

Shaker pint draft at Stags Head in Mid Town East, Manhattan. The pour is a deep haze brown copper, with a inch tan head. The aroma is not too much, bit nutty, a little roasty, maybe a touch of spice and rye. The taste picks up on the rye flavor, gritty spiced, some hop floral resins and then moves towards lightly roasted malt. A bit of astringency and bitterness in the back. The palate is medium bodies, soft natural carbonation and the dry bitter finish. Decent.

Public Theater, NY tap: Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is fairly standard pale ale. Nice amount of hop bitterness, coupled with some solid malt backbone. Sessionable, but unexciting.

The Anchored Inn, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pour golden with a small white head. Aroma is farmhouse funk and a bit of fruitiness, with some apparent rye. Taste is slightly funky rye saison. Medium to light body. Not too bad. Easy drinking.

Great American Beer Festival, 2012. Baltic Porter is one of those styles I always jump on. Aroma has lager yeast and malt. Flavor is sweet with some red wine, adding some complexity to this beer. Good.
