Pours pale gold into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet caramel aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning to earthy resin before the lasting sweet doughy finish

Pours a clear golden color with a frothy white head that is constantly propped up by a steady stream of carb bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Aromas of citrus, lemon, pine, spicy rye, apricots, earth, and a hint of bready malt. The flavor follows the aroma with an emphasis on the spiciness of the rye and the crisp dryness of the lager. Lots of hops flavor and bitterness with earthy and pine being the dominant flavors. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a bitter resinous mouthfeel. This is a well made lager, but sadly its just not my thing. I think the spice from the rye, combined with the heavy hop load, lack of yeasty esters, and very light malt backbone make this one a bit hard for me to enjoy.

Pours a clear medium golden color with a bone white head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Smells of sweet and bready pilsner malt with a bit of a freshly cut grain aroma and a hint of floral hops to round everything out. The flavor is bready and pilsner like with a bit of cracker and sweetness that lets you know there’s something just a touch different here. Spicy earthy hops provide a balance in the flavor. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. Another great lager from Jack’s!

Pours a crystal clear deep medium golden color with a huge fluffy white head that sticks around forever. Smells of bready pilsner and sweet Munich malts with a floral and earthy hop aroma as well as a spicy component that reminds me of wheat. The flavor is earthy hops up front with a bit of bready malt beneath it. Middle and finish showcase some earthy spicy wheat and hops. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick almost spicy resinous mouthfeel. This was not at all what I was expecting, but I thoroughly enjoyed it just the same. Jack’s Abby continues to impress me with their offerings.

Bottle drank at Hill Farmstead while waiting for the Harvest Festival VIP session to begin, Vermont. Pours clear, rich brown with a big, tan cream head. Burnt brown sugar nose with some earth and light ham. Medium sweet flavor with some dry earth, light smoke, toasty bread, light bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation, faint smoke, rich toasted bread, burnt earth, some bitter cocoa. Great balance, decent character.

Bottle at Craft Beer Co, thanks to Mike. It pours deep golden yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is sulphurous, manure, poop, sweet undertones and dough. The taste is lightly tart, barnyard, spice, metallic, dark brown bread, underlying sweetness, toast, creaminess and ripe feta cheese. Medium body, fine, prickly carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Interesting.....but doesn’t smell particularly nice!
