Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a fizzy-bubbly head that fizzes away and leaves minimal lacing. Aromas of caramel malts and grapes. Seems sweet, but the taste is showing this mildly. Starts with the fruit (wine notes), goes to a middle of light hop grass, to finish with the caramel. Not bad, but nothing expected like a tripel. Interesting wine barrel notes, but the base of the brew is a little average. "Tombe un peu sur le coeur".

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry bitter hops with some dry caramel malt notes is very telling of what is to come. Taste is also dominated by some dry caramel malt notes with some bitter hoppy notes. Residual sugar notes are very hard to distinguish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I personally prefer my barleywine on the English side with less hops but even so this one was too dry and bitter for my taste.
