Aroma: Powerful hops: citrus, grapefruit, flowers, pepper, grass. Extremely powerful and complex. A marvelous mix of bittering and floral hops. Appearance: Almost clear, gold, with an average size creamy and long lasting head. Average lacing. Taste: Very hoppy, greeny, grass, fresh herbs, pepper. A strong cutting bitterness as finish, that remains on the tongue for a long time. Herbs and grass, a lot of grass. Mouth feel is holding a full and unctuous texture. A real festival of hops. For advised enthusiasts only. Its only drawback is to be only in hops. Don’t expect much malty flavors in there.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and resinous hoppy notes is quite intense with nice floral notes. Taste is dominated by citrus and resinous hoppy notes with floral undertones with dry malt base and some bitterness at the end. Body is about average with great carbonation. Quite an impressive beer with great hops punch and citrus notes while limiting the bitterness level.

Single bomber from Marché Omni (also available from my local Métro). Pours a clean copper colour with a beige soapy head that disappears rather quickly with minimal lace. At first pour, you can smell the typical bourbon scent (cherry, banana) and the wood from the barrels. After a while, dark fruits come out (raisins, dates, plums) with some light burnt caramel and alcohol. Smooth and silky mouthfeel with a medium-to-full body. Banana aftertaste from the Amercian whiskey. Notes of butterscotch, dark fruits, molasses and apples. Thankfully, you can feel the bourbon in this one, but not too much to be overkill. Well-balanced overall and worth trying if you like bourbon... and a wee heavy.

Bottle: Poured a hazy amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light candi sugar notes, dry raisins and cereal notes. Taste is also dominated by sweet raisins notes with some residual sugar and some easily discernable cereal notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol.

Bouteille 660ml. Couleur orangée foncée trouble, mousse beige fuyante. Arôme de levure, fruit (raisin?), malt, caramel, légèrement vineux. Goût de sucre, fruité, malt, alcool léger. Carbonation faible, corps moyen-dense.

Bouteille 660ml. Premier brassin. Couleur acajou foncé, mousse couleur caramel pâle, un peu huileuse. Arôme de bourbon, vanille, boisé, caramel. Goût de bourbon en quantité, boisé, caramel, fumée légèr en arrière-goût, l’alcool est si bien camouflé qu’il en est presque invisisble. Carbonation faible, corps moyen-dense.

Bouteille 660ml. De couleur brune très foncée mais claire. Nez de malt rôti aux notes brûlées, moyen de café avec des notes de chocolat noir (faibles traces lactiques). Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture léger-moyen crémeuse. Faibles notes lactiques d’avoine lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût de malt rôti aux notes brûlées avec un léger goût de chocolat noir puis en finale l’on retrouve un léger goût de café ainsi qu’une légère amertume de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de rôti, moyen de café, léger de houblon herbeux avec des notes de chocolat noir ainsi que des traces de pain brûlé.

A dark reddish brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a sweet mix of chocolate, nuts, caramel, not bad. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with roasted notes, coffee, butterscotch, oily mouthfeel, classic. On tap at Vices et Versa, Feb. 22 2013.

A nice golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with light grassy and mineral notes. In mouth, a nice crisp biscuit malt with good herbal hops, nice and fresh. On tap at Vices et Versa, Feb. 22 2013.
