Description

Sampled at RBBWG16 . Thnx for sharing ! Pours dark brown, small white head. Smell is sharp, bit dark malts. Taste is dark chocolate, in a very pure way. Sharp maltyness. very complex, and a very extreme difference to anything I had prior to this. Bit sweet, mild bitterness.

Bottle sample @ RBBWG 2016, thanks Jeff. 75cl, BB 01.02.2017.

0.75 l bottle at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen, best before February 2017. Slightly hazy, dark brownish amber, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, brown sugar and nuts. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, brown sugar, licorice and molasses, followed by a short, slightly bitter, yeasty finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Very sweet but quite nice!

Thank you for sharing jefverstraete! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG V. Deep amber brown with an off-white head. Syrupy oak nose, bark, warming boozy fruit syrup, jam. Lightly fizzy body & taste. Tastes of licorice, cardamom, syrupy fruits, weird cloves, boozy varnish, furniture wood, strong sweetness & spices. Warming. A bit too odd with the bark, licorice etc. notes but interesting & not entirely bad. Current score of 26 overall & 4 on style is a bit lost on me.

Sampled @ Ratebeer Belgian Winter Gathering 2016. Clear red-brown color, small off-white head. Aroma reminds me of an Abbey Dubbel. Taste malts, some sweetness, dark candy sugar. Decent body and carbonation. Oh well, drinkable beer.

5th Feb 2016: 4th International Beer Swap at De Bierboom, Brugge. Large pour from bottle 64 of the 108 produced (there were four bottles for us to share). Cloudy golden pour with a huge dirty farmyard aroma and taste, a smouldering peat bog with rotting vegetables type of a beer. Not for me, but glad I got to try such a rare and ’interesting’ beer.

Sampled @ Bierfestival Brugge 2016.Thank you for sharing people! Hazy citrus little white head. Nose is huge medicinal peat & cooked vegetables and a dash of ammoniac to top it off (oh dear lord). Taste is spoiled green vegetables, brutal intense & excessive medicinal peat, zest, dash of ammoniac. Chemical, lively body. I dearly respect JorisPPattyn opinion but for me this is a huge no, this pretty much hurts, this beer is made of nightmares for me. I am getting even ammoniac in here which is not something I ever want to get. I love peated whiskey but experiments like this just don’t work for me. More power to the people who enjoy this but for me this is more chemical warfare & less something I would even consider drinkable.

Good dense snowwhite head over hazy greenish-orange beer. Phenolic aroma, peat. Smelling like a turf fire in an Irish country pub. Phenolic, light-sweetish flavour. Served a bit too warm, but nice smoked ham flavours coming up. Medium bodied, slick, butter-oily feel. Quit nice! Good smoked beer, original.

Dark brown beer, orange highlights, under a medium, cream head, stable. Light roasted notes, faint hops. Nice citrussy, mildly fruity flavours. Medium bodied, quite slick. Nose didn’t present itself as such, but taste delivered bringing it to a pleasing, nice black IPA.
