Description
In 1992, Paul Theakston took a daring leap into the unknown. As a fifth generation brewer of his family company, he chose to leave T&R Theakstons following its sale to a national brewery. Instead, he chose to champion independent brewing in Yorkshire and built his own brewery in the very same town, Masham. The brewhouse contains a mixture of tradition and innovation, using the Yorkshire Square Fermentation system which we hold dearly. Our original brewhouse was built from reclaimed equipment which we still use to this day.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a light, beige head. Fairly hoppy aroma along with pleasant malts. Flavor has caramel sweetness and earthy bitters. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Well balanced in the finish with some lingering breadiness. Decent.

Appearance: Poured slightly hazy amber with a nice frothy white head and some lacing
Aroma: Bready, thick stale malts and caramel
Taste: Sweet malts, bready, sweet candy and some bitterness in the finish
OK, but too sweet for me.

Sweet berry barley malt aroma - very nice. Clear amber color with a moderate, long lasting head. Slightly sweet barley malt and moderately bitter grass hops flavor. Enjoyed many a pint of this in Upper Nidderdale - excellent.

Apple cider vinegar malt aroma. Clear golden yellow color with small head. Slightly sweet lemon and apple cider vinegar malt flavor. Decent body - very unusual - never had an English beer this tart. Actually approaches the sourness of a Belgian sour.
