Huge greyish-tan head, dense & stable, over almost black beer, the layering giving images of Irish coffee. Molasses, brown candi sugar, lots of sweet roast, coffeeroasting, hints of rust and toffee. Roast, bitterish and strikingly much drier than the nose would have me expect. Again brown candi sugar all the same. Some (dry) liquorice, faint hint of ashes, charcoal, black chocolate. Quite chewy/viscous. Very well-carbonated, but the oats distinctively lend a smooth texture. Long bitterish sweet lingering. Quite good, if sweet. IMHO, in reality a very strong sweet stout - something Willy might have recognized and liked. He used to be one of my favourite brewers, and the 'Ode' is well-deserved.

Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour.- Moderate malty and hoppy and light yeasty aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Some acetic brett notes. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Draft. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of spices, yeast, fruit, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, spices, yeast, and fruit, leading to a dry finish.

Contra Pils, 25-cl-Fläschchen aus fränkisch-belgischem Biertausch mit Jef Verstraete - thanks, Jef! - Goldgelb, klar. - In der Nase weiche aber doch pilstypische zitronig-herbe Hopfung. - Antrunk sauber hellmalzig und kernig zitronig-hopfenherb mit ganz zarter Vanillesüße und einem Spritzer Säure. Schlank, trocken. Im Abgang ordentlich hopfenbitter und leider ein klein wenig ranzig. - Solides Pilsner aus Belgien, deutlich besser als so manches deutsches Industriepils. Nur schade, daß die Flaschen so klein sind ... (19.12.2023.)

Clear blond, white foam. Very grassy nose, light sweet, bitter hoppy finish. Nice Belgian pilsener.

A: hazy dark brown, foamy, tan head.
A: pistachio, chestnut, caramel, brown bread.
T: sweet raisin, caramel, pistachio, clove.
F: herbal hops, bitter nuts, dried fruit, warming brandy-like alcohol.
P: medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Bit of an odd bitterness, but decent enough.

Servida y degustada en tulipa, color cobrizo, turbia, espuma blanca jabonosa bien conservada, con abundante residuo. Agradable en nariz, levadura, fruta tropical, algo de resina, pomelo, ligeras notas de repostería, bien jugoso el aroma. En boca mantiene la jugosidad de las notas frutales captadas por el olfato, con una ligera nota dulce de malta de fondo y un decidido y muy equilibrado amargor de un lúpulo más que agradable. En conclusión, cada uno tiene su propio gusto, y el mío me dice que esta cerveza está riquísima.

Gents Bier Festival 2023 - Very dark brown with lacy thin head. Aroma of dark malts, caramel, brown sugar. Bittersweet taste, almost towards treacle.

Belgian beer #666... Bottle at home, golden beer, small to medium head. Aroma is yeast, malt, sweet, fruit. Taste is the same, yeast, malt, fruit, fizzy, not too bad but average yeast belgian blonde.
