500ml bottle at my parents 90th Birthday celebrations. Clean amber body, off white crust. Citrus bite over the original Ghost Ship bitterness. Decent malt backbone.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown with a slight ruby light, small but consistent off-white top. Malty aroma with chocolate, biscuit. raisins, toffee, peanuts, light metalic hint. The last note isn't discernible in the taste but the rest are to make a nice malt complex with fruity middle and a herbal punchy bitterness in the finish. Quite warming. It tastes a bit like 1/3 barley wine 2/3 strong ale but its very balanced and tasty despite not being a full on version of the style. I cant decide whether I prefer this or Broadside.

500ml bottle from Morrisons online. Clear amber, small off white head, minimal retention. Aroma is faint malts and stewed fruit; bog standard. Taste is like aroma, quite basic a bit thin, some biscuit malts and light raisin and orange zest. Not the best, but perfectly refreshing and drinkable.

330ml can. Dark cloudy brown, small off-white head, decent retention. Aroma is chocolate, grains, grapefruit and a touch of earthy pine. This suggests something close to a black IPA. Taste is earthy yet sweet, grains, chocolate, light citrus, grapefruit. Interesting but its a bit front ended with a vague reducing finish. We are not talking layers of flavour that build here. Its ok though.
