Description

Bottle. Strange grassy aroma. Very cloudy orange colour. Big unstable head. Mildly wheaty flavour, some banana. Turns a little citric. Leaves a rubbery feeling in my mouth. A bit disappointing.

Brown color; big head, not compact. Malt aroma. It has some malt flavor, some caramel, a light metallic touch, medium body strength, enough residual sugars; at the end there is some sweetness and liquorice. Regular.

On tap at Berliner Bierfestival. I was not content with it this time, so I let my old rating stand unaltered. It was served clear, copper-colored, with a beige head. Malty nose with some sweet caramel to follow. The same goes for the flavor, but there was an unpleasant touch of cooked vegetables there as well. Medium body, it could use more fullness. It finished with caramel and the rest of the cooked vegetables. Rating: 5-4-4-3-8-2.4.

Bottled. Reddish-brown with a beige head. Caramel and lightly roasted malt in aroma. Weak flavor, with some sweetness, caramel and roastiness. Medium to thin body and a slightly dry finish. Decent but boring. (060518)

(bottle) Clear, dark reddish-amber colour with a beige foamy medium head. Aromatic sweet and toasty malt aroma with a fruity background (dark berries, grapes). Moderately sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, medium carbonation. Strong toast-malty taste with molasses, a touch of caramel and raisins; dryer and slightly bitter towards the end with a malty and long lasting finish. Superb ! Many thanks to Joss for this gem.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, reddish brown with a creamy, off-white head. Caramelish and rather sweet aroma. Medium body with distinct caramel and roasted malt. Lightly hoppy finish. A very classical and straight Dunkel. 180506

Golden colour. Big, fresh pale malt aroma. Clean bready notes. Malty, full body. Slight hint of alcohol late. A clean, simply and beautiful example.

Bottle: Deep golden coloured, very stable, almost down to the bottom, fluffy lacing white head; dusty, grainy, sweet-malty nose with a faint touch of bitterness and alcohol, honey detectable; moderate sweetish flavour, balanced by some distinctive bitterness, medium bodied, not too heavy; lingering bitter-sweet-malty finish. A beautifully rounded Bock, moreish and well quaffable.......

Bottle (thank You very much, joss !) Reddish-amber coloured, mid-sized fluffy off-white head, slowly diminishing; quite strong fruity nose(...berries, nuts) mixed with molasses, sweet malt (and a touch of cinnamon?); mainly sweetish, but also bitter flavour; quite long first sweetish fruity and malty finish; becoming dryer and a bit chocolatey. Full bodied, but well drinkable, though. A pleasure....................!
