Bottle. Yellow/ orange colour with a large off-white head. Fruity apple with hops aroma. Flavour is long fruity apple with ahint of hop. Weak dry fruity finish. a beautiful beer.

dark nut brown with white head. Lively carbonation. Some fruits and spices. The newest Belgium trappist brewery late 1990’s. The finish is long lasting like any trappist beer! Great!

cloudy yellow with white head. spices & fruits. Has a lively carbonation. Bitter hoppiness and quite dry taste. Long great finish!

This is an amazing beer. It is a pleasure to look at and exceptionally complex. This beer is orange and cloudy. The huge, thick, firm, and long lasting white head takes up far more space than the beer in my Kapittel trappist glass, and leaves a thick and sticky lacing. Aroma starts off fruity and spicy suggesting a tripel; alcohol and malt follows. This is a very sweet beer, with coriander and other spices, sweet fruit and light malt as well as a hint of bitter hops. Aftertaste is a little sweet but has salt as well, with a hint of alcohol lingering. Flawless and outstanding.

Bottle. Very good beer!!!!!!! Creamy excellent mostly lasting head. Light brown colour. Powerfull complex (orange) aroma and flavor. Average finish. Oily palate and soft carbonated.

Draught Small, but stable beige head, leaving some lace. Darker amber than this is usually known as black. Fresh, light hops nose. Once again, a vegetable bit - like the Buxus in the blonde, but less obvious than in that one. Some dry malt and hopstaste as the blonde, but the real dark malts enhance the bitterness just that little bit to give it a real malt character without excess sweet. Dry, even dry-out effect. Another very well-balanced beer, good and reviving.

Draught Good white head, very slightly receding over dark golden beer with greenish shine. Perfect nose of combined dry malts and good Saaz hops - WOW! Very nice, clean hops and dry pale malts taste - classic but agreable. Very perfumed but undeniable hopsflavour retronasal. Light, refreshing, very light almond flavour in the aftertaste, palm tree (Buxus) aroma. Great, refreshing, drinking ale of Trappist quality.

Bottle / Achel glass from Tolkien’s House Pub in Zagreb. Poured a dark gold/orange colour, with a tiny but persistent white head. Lovely fresh hoppy, lemony, malty and fruity nose. Hmm.... I peered in the bottle, and it seems that this is bottle conditioned. A nice bit of yeast sediment down there. The taste is certainly insteresting. The background is, surprisingly hoppy, but hops don’t dominate, and neither does the malt. Yeast "owns" this one. The taste is... oooh... some fruity malt from time to time, ash & dust (in the most positive way possible), yeast. Grape seed bitterness in the late taste and into the aftertaste. Very, very, interesting and different. Not sure if everyone’d like it, but I do, in a way.

Bottled. Slightly hazy, yellow-orange beer. Large, off-white head. Sweet, spicey and hoppy aroma. Sweet, tripel-like and fruity flavor, with a long bitter finish that has some resin-notes too. (060210)
