Poured dark copper into snifter. Initial active carbonation quickly dissipates to cling to the rim. Raisins and date aromas. Very interesting body - light to medium to full. More raisins and dates to a long trappist malt finish. Quite nice.

Very dark in color with creamy head. Smell is very rich of fruit. Malty flavor that last on the tongue. Was a very pleasent beer overall! Rerate 17 Apr 08 - Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a jello like tan cream head. The aroma is rich fruit with some earthy tones. The taste is a tangy leafy malt with some strong fruit. Still a solid beer but not the 4.7 I orginally rated it.

Bottle: Hazy, orangey coloured; huge rocky, creamy head; strong fruity nose (lemon, bananas, cloves); slightly sweetish, moderate fruity flavour, a bit yeasty; a bit tart, fruity sweetish finish with the acidity and the flavour of green apples. A well rounded and warming brew.........................

Bottled(330ml). –light hazy golden coloured, medium white head, flavor is yeasty and mild spicy, aroma of lemon, banana and cloves with nice spicy hints, slight alcohol and mild acidic finish

Deep red-brown body, medium creamy, clumping light tan head. Heavy toffee, candied fruits, spice, breads, and caramel dominate the aroma. Yeast esters in abundance. Heavy esters in the flavor, toasty, and sweet with dark fruits, carameled breads, and hints of red wine. Both sweet and dry. Alcohol warms the palate a bit. Long, smooth, relatively soft yet slightly bitter finish. Tasty, but not one of the best.

Bottle Hazy amber, heavily carbonated, foamy white head. Citrus, banana aroma, minerally yeast edges, peach. Light metallic trapist-yeast flavorbase, peach, bubblegum. Mouthfeel quite foamy, makes the beer seem lighter. Spicy and metallic yeast and hop aftertaste.

Bottled. Dark amber colour mediumsized foamy head. Alcohol and plum in aroma with hints of caramel. Caramel, raisins, plum and a bit yeast. A bit sticky palate afterwards.

Bottle. Dark/red brown color with small tan head. Candi-sugar and sweet fruits in aroma. Quite sweet and light alcoholic taste. Aftertaste is much the same, and bitterness is almost non-present in this beer. Not my favourite trappist-beer. Thx to KØLF. (050923)

Bottle. Reddish brown, thin beige head. Nice choccy malt with some plummy fruit. Some sweetness in mouth, then more fruit and choc towards the end with nice hoppy finish which is very dry. Nice brown beer, although not as complex as the best ones
