Cask at the Market Porter. Clear gold beer, good white head. Palate is softish with mild carbonation, nice mouthfeel. A little creamy malt and decent citric hop - medium bitter. Orange marmalade and a little pink grapefruit. Finishes smooth with medium bitterness. Like this! Fresh, reasonably well hopped and a good mouthfeel.

Cask at The Anchor, Birmingham. Poured a clear light straw colour with a big frothy head. The aroma has a hint of grass and a little malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, with a big malty flowery, aromatic taste on the palate, combined with lots of dry spicy hoppiness. My initial reaction was mixed, but that was just the shock of drinking something that was so completely different. By the second or third mouthful I started to like this beer. By the end of the glass, I was hooked!

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear gold with a tight, foamy white head. Lemony citrus nose, some grass and plastic. Light sweet flavor with tangy, citric bitterness, dry dough, straw, grass and plastic. Light bodied with fine carbonation. More of the same to finish, and lots if this undesirable plastic note. Not great. A bit overly bitter.

Has a fair bitterness to its taste but the flavour comes through in the aftertaste. A pale in aroma and taste, it’s light golden in colour with a small head. Its thin texture makes it crisp and has a mild fruitiness about it.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 28/1/2013. Deep gold with a lacy white head. Light, citrus fruit and green herb aroma. Flavour had some cereal malts, more fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Straw with a dense cream head; citrus aroma; citrus flavour; with a fresh leafy bitterness giving a long finish. A rather good golden ale - does exactly what is says on the pump clip.

Stopped regular rating 22nd Oct 2012 but had this on handpump at FFTMC, Oxford, Saturday 5th January 2013 Pours warm gold with barely a head and just a slight haze. Wonderfully juicy with tropical and citrus flavours combining well, there is a good solid backbone to this and it is definately a moreish beer, we had a couple before finding out that they also had Dark Star Hophead Galaxy in the cellar waiting to come on, it was then Dark Star all the way I’m afraid, this was good but was bettered by the Dark Star. Cask (handpump) @ Bow Bar, 80 West Bow, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 2HH.Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to light light heavy hoppy, lemon, lime, dusty grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to light heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120423]
