Bottle at home. ’13 cellar reserve in 375ml. Let sit in the cellar for three weeks to let the yeast settle. Pours reddish brown but pitch black with a finger head. Fades fast. Nose is heavy on the lacto. Hint of cherries and woodiness. I don’t get any whiskey. Taste is interesting. A toasty and chocolate tasting sour stout with a hint of vanilla and whiskey but honestly I’d have to try the base beer to figure out how much bourbon was imparted. It’s still an excellent beer and I wish I had more!

Bottle 750ml. [ Bottle #420/1531 ]. Unclear - hazy light to medium brown red colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, brett, tart malt, moderate hoppy, dry grass. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, tart, dry, acidic. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130427]

Aroma is moderate to light heavy tart, sour, wood, tart fruit, light blueberries. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light acidic with a long duration, tart, fruity - berry, dry, tropical fruit, blueberry notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130216]

12oz Bottle ’13 release. Ordered 2 of these and let sit in the cellar for 3 weeks before opening. Still poured a very bright, cloudy gorgeous beer. Not much head or lacing. Smells like tangerines, honeysuckle, and white wine. Reminds me a lot of Hill Farmstead Mimosa...not entirely but it’s close. Taste is not like MImosa though :) Earthy, wheat-heavy, nice acidic finish. Sweet and very very dry. Lovely nectarine juice with a hint of tart. It’s a great beer. I wish I had more of these!!!!

Bottle, thanks to jackl. It pours murky red-brown with pretty much no head. The nose is earth, wood, vanilla, caramel, dark fruit, raisin and candy. The taste is initially damn tart, lemon, Granny Smith apple, cider vinegar, fairly acidic, wood, dark fruit, berry and sherbet with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and low/fine carbonation. Not quite what I was expecting with the Abt/Quad style classification! Still an interesting and pretty tasty offering.

Bottle, many thanks to Bill! It pours cloudy deep red-brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is tangy, sour berry... raspberry, cherry, bitter-sweet aspect, vinegar, wood, faint vanilla and coconut. The taste is tangy fruit, tart cherry, raspberry, high level of tartness, sherbet, lemon, Granny Smith apple, wood, mild acidity and vinous notes with a dry, rather tart finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Very nice level of tartness and excellent balance. Delicious!

Mucho thanks to Bill! It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The nose is earth, toast, Granny Smith apple, lemon, sour apricot and cocoa. The taste is big initial tartness, lemon, sour green apple, earth, faint roast, dry, tart cherry, vinous notes and wood. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting, good depth of flavour and rather tasty.
