330ml bottle for Christmas breakfast. Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma is oily coffee, some tar and a little alcohol. Taste has bitter coffee and tar to start. Sweet roast. Finish is a bit short and could do with some more carbonation.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Poured a deep dark brown colour with a very plump off white head. Some pissy hop and vague chocolate in the nose. Very lively carbonation that was rather off putting. Palate slightly thin. Fruity hop bitter finish. Not bad but became a bit tiresome towards the end of the 500ml bottle.

Bottle at Pat’s birthday tasting at chriso’s. Pours oily brown with a fine, beige head. Filter coffee aroma. Very sweet flavor, plenty of coffee, roasted malts, boozy sting, chocolate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Warm finish, dark fruits, cocoa, coffee, sweet mocha, light booze, light bitterness. All the elements don’t quite come together perfectly, but the elements on their own still make for an interesting beer. The condition is not ideal. (3.7)
Bottle at Bruce’s Housewarming Party Tasting, London. Just a massive beer overall. Extreme pure coffee character with tons of dark, raw sugar and hints of booze. Thick, rich, and lightly syrupy. (3.7)
