0.5l bottle #182 of 468 from myBrewerytap. This is a fantastic black beer with a almost magically enormous and lasting fluffy as hell ashy head. Some sour tones in the aroma. Lots and lots of chocolate and it's also slightly woody with traces of distinct smoke. Quite full-bodied and it has a average carbonation level. The same wild-yeasty tones found in the aroma is most definitely also here in the flavor. My god, this tasted fantastic good paired with a heavy beef and a acidic Bearnaise sauce. It's almost like having a #1 of Haandbryggeriets Odins Tripel. (Just the way I remember my #100 rating.) Ends with both chocolate and a lovely roasted finish. Not sure if it's intended to taste like this, but for me this is pure niceness! 25.02.2012

0.5l. #292 out of 420 bottle from myBrewerytap. The pour is black as oil and it has a small but somewhat lasting dark chocolate that sticks to the side of the glass. The aroma is rich and chocolaty with a quite clear woody base, chocolateheavy roasted malts, chili and a nice and quite suiting sense of acidity. Nice. It has a best described; moosky and almost fluffy mouthfeel packed with roasted acidity, chocolate, tons of coffee and wood. Lots of it. Subtle hint of smoke in the finish and that acidity? Not sure if I liked it, but it's definitely making the beer more interesting. All in all, a nice one. 15.02.2012

0.5l bottle from myBrewerytap. This is a light blurry chestnut-ruby beer with a nice medium sized lasting beige head that stick around. The aroma has caramel-sweetness, notes of both chocolate paper mixed with licorice and a subtle hoppy touch as well. Nice. It has a good hoppy bitterness all the way. Much more bitter hops than aroma hops here. Some nice toffee, malty and nutty tones as well. Well balanced between sweet and bitter. Hints of some dark berries in the finish. Yeah, quite nice! 18.02.2012

0.5l bottle, #547 of 804 from myBrewerytap. Pours a dark oaky brown body with a really thin - almost non existing - brown head. Aroma is light licorice-sticky-sweet, subtle roasted caramel tones and hints of both sweet dried fruits and wood. Quite nice. Full-bodied with a nice barley-caramel sticky mouthfeel. Warming and calming flavors. Somewhat out there on the sweet side of the barleywine scale, but not to sweet. Dark caramel, salty licorice, it's spicy and it almost feels like it has been burned just a bit around the edges. Ends in a lovely warming finish and aftertaste. If I have to pick, I guess it's what you almost can call flat, but somehow I find that quite suiting for these kind of beers. Turned out to be one helluva sipper! 08.02.2012

500 ml shared bottle at local tasting. ABV is 5.6%. Very dark brown to black colour, large and creamy beige head. Very nice vinous aroma, also notes of fruity hops, mild roasty notes. Distinctly hoppy flavour, more piney and resinous than fruity, roasty notes (coffee). Good stuff.

900th rating! 500ml bottle, 2010 vintage at 10.1%. Pours dark caramel with no head. Aroma is smoky, marmalade on toast and alcohol. Taste has heavy malts to start. Smoky, bitter orange finish. No carbonation, but thick in the mouth. Slick. Warming alcohol in the aftertaste.
