330ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown colour with average, frothy, to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Chocolately dark malty, slightly vinous, fruity and spicy, minimally tangy and funky aroma, hints of dark chocolate, red wine, blue grapes, dark berries, some liquorice and soy sauce, interfering hints of mustard seed, sage and vinegar; caramel and vanilla overtones; no real course or sequence of flavours, rather a slightly chaotic oscillation. Taste is sweet-and-sour dark malty and fruity, slightly vinous, notes of dark chocolate, some caramel. liquorice, a touch of soy sauce, fruity notes of bramble, blue grapes, dark berries in general, dry, vinous hints of corresponding parings; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, smooth and soft palate, fine and gentle, nevertheless effective carbonation; accordingly relatively easy drinkable for a Belgian Strong.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Funky and citrusy aroma, notes of salted lemon, hints of rooibos, minimally smoky, woody overtones. Taste is dry, minimally tart, minimalyl funky, slightly citrusy, hints of rooibos and salted lemon, a soapy touch; light, minimally watery. Composition with matching ingredients works in the nose for me, but remains a bit unbalanced and undercomplex in taste.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, amber-ish golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally perfumed and floral, citrusy and tropical fruity, hoppy aroma with a Kölnisch Wasser touch, hints of passion fruit, orange, lemon, lemon tea, overripe tropical fruit, orchard fruit. Taste is minimally sweet, biscuity pale malty, slightly citrusy and leafy hoppy; minimally watery passages, smooth and soft palate, soft carbonation. Nicely hopped, no abatement of flavours in the finish, no chalky interference. Quite nice.

A couple of sips courtesy of Yantarcoast. The ale is almost black, intransparent. Moderate frothy beige head. Aroma: citrus fruit, earth from hops. Toasted malts, a tiny roasted hint. Medium body. Taste: powerful hop bitterness. Citrus, earth, wood. Additional dark malts. Nice brew.

330ml can (5.7% ABV) at Rolling Barrels in Moscow. Pours black with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma is resinous hops, roasted malt, faint caramel. Taste is medium bitter, dark malt, resin, citrus. Expensive but good.

Can shared@Pratts & Payne, Streatham, London - golden orange pour with a white head. Sweet citrus fruity with notes of grapefruit, some peach, sweet malty backing, medium body, hoppy citrus bitter finish.

Cask@Pratts & Payne, Streatham, London - Pours a almost clear golden colour with a nice white head. Light sweet citrus fruity and bready malty with some notes of lemon and grapefruit, melon, soft carbonation, medium to light body, pine needles, bitter hoppy finish. Great condition and very quaffable.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Not bad, definitely has a zesty grapefruit character to it, some piney bitterness, lemon peel. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Bitter finish, more grapefruit zest, rindy bitterness. Nice citrusy novelty beer.
