22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown / amber with a small tan head. Aroma brings out burnt roasted malt, caramelized sugar, and who knows what else - smells very confused and uncoordinated. Flavour... not sure how to describe this - this is all over the place - notes of roasted malt, caramelized sugar, scorched hops, and even some feet / BO notes. This is very strange. Totally a gimmick beer at this stage in the anniversary series. It's drinkable, and amazingly well-concealing of the ABV. Good stuff, but only drinkable in small quantities.

Fare thee well Josh tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan - cream head. Palate is smooth and light. Smooth mellow dark malts. No real bitterness in the dark malt but there is a little coffee - cream. Hops are good and piney and bring a little spice but not too much bitterness. Whisper of skunk. Light smooth finish. Good stuff, hangs together well.

Bomber from Imbibe Wine. Nose is sweet caramel, hints of chocolate and golden raisins, and some very light toffee. Very dark brown with a small cinnamon colored head. Flavor is lightly bitter, contrasting moderate sweetness (overload of malts), spicy, white pepper, and a finishing bitterness without being overwhelmed by alcohol (where’s the beef (alcohol)?) Huge new offering (their take on Tactical Nuclear Penguin?)

Bottle shared in London for Josh’s farewell. Picked this one up in California. Pours rich brown with a frothy beige head. The nose has some interesting fruit notes, a bit of grapefruit and melon, modest roasted malts. Light-medium sweet flavor with dry, toasted brown bread, dry earth, mild cocoa, burnt pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry toasted malt finish, brown bread, some further dried pine, citrus rind, earth. Decent.

On tap at Toronado in February 2014. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, some roasted malt and licorice. Similar taste. Balanced and not that extreme, I kind of liked the drinkability of this beer.
