On tap at The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT.
This was poured into a mason jar.
The appearance was a nice lookingdark brown colorwith a one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Light messy lacing.
The smell had some light piney hops over top of some nutty to coffee aromas balancing nicely.
The taste was moderately sweet through the previously mentioned malty flavors and gently bleeds the piney hops back in subtly. Light piney/nutty aftertaste. Semi-smooth finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed good enough to balance the bitter piney harshness to hit my tongue nicely.
Overall I say as an American styled brown ale it works. I’d have this again.

Can thanks to Joey. Pours a hazy yellow gold with medium white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong citrus and spruce. Medium mouth, pine, citrus, light dank, juicy, very nice.

On tap at The Reservoir.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a nice level off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Light lacing clung nicely to the sides of the glass.
The smell takes on some roasty coffee and chocolate malts bringing in some bready malts.
The taste copies the aroma nicely allowing the German lager yeast to work it’s magic in the aftertaste (that long bready/biscuitiness normally associated with the style). Quick wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Makes for a great session. Carbonation yields a nice low key feel allowing an easy drinking session all around.
Overall, definitely one of the better darker beers by this company. I’d have this again.

On tap at The Reservoir.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a black color with a thin wisp of a white to off white head. Remnants of white to off white lace cling to the glass and eventually slide into the beer.
The smell has the raspberry in front of the chocolate. Sweet yet tart. Light roasty tones of coffee bean roll in underneath.
The taste takes the sweetness and tartness from the raspberries to once again be in front of the chocolate. Light raspberry aftertaste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it.
Carbonation runs nice and light.
Overall, this one is a decent beer. I like the idea but the raspberry seemed a bit overpowering. Maybe again.

Tap at Growler Garage.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden yellow color with no head nor lacing.
The smell started off with roasty coffee smooth with light grassy hops surrounding the underneath.
The taste was more balanced between the hops and the roasty coffee beans. Light coffee aftertaste. Smooth finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the roastiness hitting well.
Overall, this was a pretty good AIPA with coffee in it. I’d have again.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a glossy to burnt amber color with a slim finger-ed
white to off white foamy head. Light lacing roamed around the glass.
The smell had a big woody character up front with a nice malt backbone
sliding in underneath. Slightly nutty, almost that chippy dryness to it.
The taste was mainly dry and sweet with the subtle woodiness really being the
most pronounced part of this beer. Definitely a dry woody sweet aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with nice sipping to almost sessionable
feel. Really hits dry on the tongue.
Overall, for a saison, its pretty nice. I’d have again.

16oz can pours a watery, deep brown with some frothy, off white head. Nose is mild, light grist, a little couch, some brown sugar, some birch, a little candy. No coffee at all. Flavor has root beer and cream soda, some definite birch notes, almost herbal in a way, brown sugar, malt. Dry finish, a bit chalky. No maple. No coffee. Big miss.

16oz can (refrigerated), canned 11/2/15, drunk 12/4/15.
Dark beige head is large, frothy and fairly quickly recedes to cover atop a clear, dark amber body.
Smells like old, rancid coffee. Beany, dirty, incredibly earthy and with nothing particularly alluring/enjoyable. Questionable fermentation on the maple and honey? I don’t know, but they certainly did not do the coffee right either, as this stuff is a month old and has been refrigerated and smells terrible.
The flavor, thankfully, isn’t as offensive, with very little of the beany notes from the nose. Softer light roast coffee notes combine with base malt sugars, sticky honey and other mild roasted notes. Perhaps some maple-like flavors, though it’s hard to really pinpoint the origin of the sugars here. Heavily fizzy, loose carbonation and no real maltiness leading to a thin, watery texture. After the massively buttery pint of Valor I had prior to this, I’m seriously questioning trying anything more from this brewery.
