Bottle 750ml.light unclear medium yellow colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, flowers, perfume, citrus, light yeasty. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dry, crispy hops, hay, grass, fruity, citrus, yeast. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120914]

Redelijk aparte fles – 375 ml. Ook geen etiket maar een papier rond de hals. Gekocht tijdens Brassigaume 2012. Mijn oorspronkelijke plan was om dit tijdens het festival te proeven maar de brouwerij was merkwaardig afwezig. Toch maar gekocht aangezien de prijs meeviel en ik dit al een tijdje wou proeven. Thuis opgedronken. Donkerder klassiek amber kleur, wat oneven, redelijk grote witte bubbels als kraag. Geur is redelijk zoet en ruikt als een combinatie van marmelade, sinaasappel schil en een van die producten die vernis in tiptop conditie moeten houden. Ik weet niet, beetje aceton-rijk en industrieel qua geur. Smaak is bittere kruiden, terug die vernis product, marmelade, aceton, wat bitterheid en alcohol bijproducten. Bittere kruidenthee wat karamel, kandijsuiker, onkruid en toffee. Overal aanzienlijk bitter voor wat ik van de stijl verwacht ondanks de zoetheid. Jij voelt ook echt wel de sterkte van dit bier. Olieachtig met maar weinig koolzuur gas – dit is een van die ruige ongepolijste barleywines. Vraag mij altijd af of die dingen bedoelt zijn om zo te eindigen of geraken zij niet helemaal waar zij willen zijn.

Has a lot of smoked aroma. Smoked malt. Foam is kind of a mocha colour with a bit of reddish black lacing. Not a lot of body, and not super interesting. Just smoked and crisp. Medium carbonation with a little bitterness. On tap at Blue Monk.

Bottle @ Mi Orge Mi Houblon, Belgium. Pours black with a creamy head. Nose is roast, charcoal and citrus hops. Flavor is roast, chocolate - cocoa powder like and a bit of ash. Smooth and medium bodied. Nice - I love this brewery!

Hazy blond color, small head. Light aroma of malts and hops, but somehow anonymous. Light body strength, some malt flavor and some aromatic hop. Correct bitterness. It maybe has just a bit too much yeast, otherwise it could be a good idea, a clean and light Simcoe Lager.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and lemons. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw, leading ot a dry and bitter finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a hazy yellow with a frothy white head leaving quite some lacework. Fresh, perfumy hop aroma. Medium body, a sweet maltiness and then again these lovely aromatic and perfumy Simcoe hops. Not really bitter though. Appears stronger than 3.5%. Very quaffable. 160912

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is citrusy and light lime. Fruity, citrusy and light yeasty. Mild grassy and slight citrusy. Smooth fruity and light citrusy finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice creamy head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, fruits, chocolate, coffee, wood and hops. Dry finish.
